WHEEL. THE SWITHEN FARM ADOPTED RAM
25th January 2025Wheel. The Swithen Farm Adopted Ram.
Wheel was named wheel as he was the third wheel to his two goat brothers Salt n Pepper, he was raised with them from birth and even fed from their goat mother, they were inseparable and best of friends.
They all lived on a farm together with no other animals, other than their two sausage dog sisters Flo and Pearl. They played everyday and got up to as much mischief as they possibly could, eating things they weren’t meant to, like crops, flowers and even non-edible materials like metal. All three became some of the world’s best escape artists, escaping numerous pens to get up to trouble in the barns, or other areas of the farm where they knew it was out of bounds. They would even climb on the quad bikes, tractors and in the back of trailers.
One day, when out venturing.
One day, the three of them went somewhere shouldn’t of been, and all three ate some rhododendrons plants, which are extremely poisonous to sheep. This caused the three to suffer for numerous days.
Everyone involved at the time did everything possible to comfort and heal the poorly boys but sadly wheels two brothers didn’t make it.
After this wheel got really lonely fast and was quite frustrated not knowing exactly what had happened to his brothers. He started looking around the farm for them for weeks, he got more attached to his owner not letting him leave his side following him off the farm.
He then started jumping the cattle grids to go see other sheep in the next farm for some company, which lead to him been allowed to live there temporarily because he was unstoppable. Such a clever lad he was spending the day with the sheep on the next farm and coming back on a evening or a morning to get his treats and daily strokes he was used to.
Improvement to wheels happiness.
This move saw a massive improvement to wheels happiness, but knowing that the day would come when Wheel had to leave the farm, the race was on the look for a forever home, a place to live happily ever after, the best environment for him to be safe and as happy as possible with lots of other happy loving animals and not to forget plenty of people to share his special cheeky character with.
Re Homed
Wheel is now re homed with us, Swithens Farm and we hope you enjoy meeting him as much as we enjoy having him here on the farm.
